Tree Farm Field Day 2022

Located on Lindsey Bluff, the Marshfield School Forest boasts 320 acres of well managed aspen, oak and pine forest. The School District has owned and managed this property for almost 70 years. Open to local students and community members, visitors learn about forestry and the history of the land. This property has an extensive trail system and decades of forestry activities to showcase. Join us to see this special example of public land stewardship and education in central Wisconsin.

Tours of the Marshfield School Forest will be by foot on moderately flat terrain. The tours will feature four topics: forest invasive species, pond maintenance, aspen harvests, and red pine management.

Other subjects discussed include the woodland wildlife, forest health, invasive species ID and control, and trail development and maintenance Some of the terrain will be uneven. Please dress appropriately, including sturdy walking or hiking shoes. Bring a walking stick if desired. The temperature can also change rapidly so plan to bring a light jacket. 

Registration for this event is required. Registration fee covers morning refreshments, lunch and a field tour booklet.  Advance tickets available until July 29th.  After that, pleease register at the door.

There are a variety of major chain hotels and lodging options in the Marshfield area, about 10 miles north east of the Marshfield School Forest.

Note: August is a busy tourist month in central Wisconsin. If you are traveling from out of town please make your lodging arrangements ASAP 

Directions to Marshfield School Forest: 

11450 County Rd N, Marshfield, WI 54449 

Take Hwy V south of Hwy 10 (west of State Hwy 80 as you're going towards Neillsville) to Hwy N in Lindsey, WI. The school forest is on the north side of Hwy N about 1 mile east of Lindsey, WI. Look for the tree farm field day sign.
